![]() ![]() Why doesn't cakewalk cater a little more to the beginner and break these issues down in regard to hardware. "other things that can cause issues are things sharing the same IRQ or polling." I don't even know what this means. M-audio states that it is compatable with the software and now all I am reading is basically testimony to the problems with M-audio being compatible with cakewalk software. I bought a ucg6102 and was advised that it was not a good choice and should purchase a different soundcard. If your not technically savvy enough to understand all the parameters, your basically up a creek and more time is spent trying to find compatible hardware and fiddle with settings. I fail to understand why Cakewalk doesn't advise what is compatible with their software. when you switch between WDM and ASIO inside SHS all you're doing is telling SHS which driver to use. When you DO install the drivers for the fast track you will install both WDM and ASIO drivers because they write drivers for both protocols (most companies do anyway). in fact if you haven't uninstalled ASIO4ALL from your computer, I recommend you do that before you install the drivers for the m-audio fast track. you won't be "installing ASIO again" with the fast track. Just to clarify, you didn't download an ASIO driver - you downloaded ASIO4ALL which is a WDM wrapper. Anyway, I did find the link to the Windows 7 driver on the M-audio website. I'm looking forward to geting some recording done. Man, you'd think I'm trying to write the friggin William Tell Overture here. It took me a while to get the UCG to work and get the right settings. I'm sort of skeptical to install ASIO again and mess with the settings. It didn't work, the only way I got it to work was to set the driver mode to WDM/KS and then I had loads of latency but fixed that with the buffer size. I downloaded ASIO driver on my lap top when I was setting up my UCG guitar link. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.Well, I'll have to wait until the M-Audio Interface arrives to "fiddle about" with it. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available. Remember to check with our website as often as possible to stay “updated one minute ago.” Therefore, if you wish to install this audio version, click the download button and apply the package. Also, when the installation has finished, do perform a restart to ensure that all changes take effect properly. Updating the audio version can improve sound quality, resolve different compatibility issues, fix related errors spotted throughout the product's usage, add support for new operating systems, and bring various other changes.Īs for applying this package, the steps are quite simple since each producer intends to uncomplicate things for users: just download the package, run the setup, and follow the on-screen instructions.īear in mind that, even though other operating systems might be compatible as well, it is not recommend that you apply any software on platforms other than the specified ones. When enabled by proper files, the characteristics of the sound card (like model, manufacturer, number of channels) are completely available to computers, and all its features are made accessible. ![]() Usually, Windows operating systems apply a generic audio driver that allows computers to recognize the sound card component and make use of its basic functions. Updated the legacy uninstaller correctly find and kill 64 bit versions of TBIA. The Installer Launcher now kills TBIA prior to launching the Installer to address this. TBIA was leaving registry keys open which caused the uninstall of previous version to require a restart to complete and the subsequent upgrade install to fail. The new uninstaller will correctly detect the error condition and clean up after itself. Addressing an Update to Uninstaller to fix and issue that left an erroneous entry in the Windows add/remove programs panel. TBIA) was already present on the target system and had a higher version number. Addressing a bug where the installer would fail if a component shared among multiple installers (e.g. The failure is now handled as the installer will insure the TBIA correctly appears in the system tray. This would be most likely to occur during windows startup on slower machines. Addressing an issue with Task Bar Icon Applet bug where the icon could fail to be added to the system tray, and a cryptic error message presented to the user.
